What we will do

Next dates: October 8, 9 October 22, 23 The Kaasserie cheese day is a four-hour event where you will turn two litres of supermarket milk into two types of fresh cheese. First a rennet coagulated cheese and then an acid coagulated cheese. You will learn the difference between these two different ways of making cheese. You will also learn about cheese history and enjoy two cheese tastings. The program is the following: When you arrive, with coffee or tea, you see an introduction about De Kaasserie and the day's program. You then prepare the first liter of milk for coagulation. During the waiting time, you see a presentation on the history of cheese. We then have a cheese lunch, tasting different cheeses from that history. Turkish, Italian, French, Swiss, English, and Dutch. A delicious overview of European Cheese history. We continue to make the rennet coagulated cheese to then go on to the acid coagulated cheese. We finish up with a drink and a tasting of homemade cheeses. This will open a window into cheese world and the endless possibilities cheesemaking at home has to offer. You will take the rennet, calcium, and cheese cloth needed to continue exploring at home. The event includes refreshments, lunch (tasting) and the end tasting with cheeses made at home with a drink. About me I'm Paula. A designer gone cheese maker. I come from Latin America and have lived in a total of five countries, now for 15 years in The Netherlands. Food has always been my happy place, the place where I connect with my memories of places I love. Making my own cheese brought that to another level, it made me feel empowered to connect with memories I thought were out of my reach. This is why I began making porcelain cheese moulds, then selling Mexican cheeses and this is why I offer cheese making workshops to share this amazing feeling with you!
