Coffee Room

An important prescence on the corner of the Kinkerstraat and The Bilderdijkkade, Coffee Room has been a center of great coffee, healthy food and friendly crowd in Amsterdam Oud West for over 15 years now. The pioneer in the world of cool latte spots which have grown around the area.

 

You can get your coffee, cakes, muffins, smoothies and delicious organic sandwiches at this cosy Kinkerstraat cafe in Amsterdam Oud-West.

Sam's Coffee

At the end of the Tenkate Market, Sam's Coffee is a must in the neighbourhood life. Nassim started the place right when Corona started and created a friendly vibe with good coffee and snacks that has made double the place in size and become an unmissable in the market.

On a sunny day, don't miss their terrace.

Ikaria
Food

Ikaria food is a greek specialty coffee and food kiosk on a corner of the Bilderdijkstraat and the Kwakerstraat. Before their arrival, the place was an anonymous corner which has become, thanks to their amazing products and service, into an unmissable meeting point in the neighborhood. Every morning you can see people from all around the area, walking their dogs, meeting up with friends and having a coffee in the sun.

 

They have a passion for good greek food, be sure to try their special treats.

Skina

Skina means corner in Papiamento. Like its name says, it is on a corner on the Bilderdijkstraat in a great large space full of light. 

The place is very minimal and flexible in its layout. Stools can be moved around, window sides used as tables, which gives the space a very easy going feeling. Coffee, matcha and pastries are great.

Don't miss their Match strawberry shake, it's heaven.

Wine

Topido

Run by Tom and his father, Topido is the wine and liquor store on the Tenkate Market. Born in 1978, it offers more than 250 varieties of wines and liquors from many countries. Next to it is the Topido cafe, a typical neighbourhood spot to have a drink while visiting the market.

If the sun is out, enjoy a drink in their terrace

Tati

Tati, named after the French film director Jacques Tati, is a charming brocante spot specialised in French wines and offering wine tastings. 

It is a hidden gem in the neighbourhood, full of interesting vintage design objects and with a charming terrace in the sun, for a cup of wine or coffee.

Visit their beautiful tasting room in the back, for public tasting sessions or private events

Petit Celler

Petit Cellar is the neighbourhood specialist in Iberian wines. Go into their wine and delicatessen filled space for a journey to the gourmet delicacies of Spain. Oriol, the owner, has Catalan origins and shares his love for his root through a carefully chosen selection of high quality products.

Try their extra virgin olive oil, olives, preserves and Iberian ham.

Tacoteca

In the middle of the Tenkate market, if you hear dancing music and smell delicious meat in the air, you are at Tacoteca. The most delicious and fun taco stand in the market. Taco + teca comes from Discoteca and it delivers on both promises. Amazing street tacos que good music and vibes.

Vishandel Jongert

Looking for some pure Dutch tradition in a very tasty form? Vishandel Jogert offers the best of The Netherlands in fish of all forms. Fried kibbeling and lekkerbek, paling, mackerel, you name it. This is the perfect place in the Tenkate Market to enjoy a delicious fish lunch in a typical Dutch market.

No tourist traps.

Enjoy their haring like you should "Ogen dicht en geniet" (Dutch for close your eyes and enjoy), like this iconic image.

LUPE

Great authentic Mexican food you would eat in a Mexican home, with amazing Margaritas and a great atmosphere, LUPE is a unique Mexican restaurant and bar founded by two Mexican brothers, Pedro and Juan Mouneau.

They are pioneers in Amsterdam Mexican food scene and it shows

CABRON

Very friendly and cozy spot in the Albert Cuyp Market, one of the most popular markets in Amsterdam. It's a colourful space with a great vibes and great Mexican menu and drinks.

Just like the crowd, the food is fun, creative and friendly. A select non Mexican delicious dishes in pure Cabron Style.

Perfect place for a fun night out, tacos or quesadillas with a drink!
